Probably like you, I had thought about training to be an interior designer or an interior decorator as an interior decorating career. Then I discovered Interior redesign (also called home staging, real estate staging, one-day decorating, or home arrangement.) I had always done home interior decorating and redecorating for a hobby and thought that interior decor should be more about how a home felt rather than how it looked. The concept of doing one-day interior design makeovers of a home, using what people already own, really excited me.

So what is an accountant, triathlete, communications and investor relations professional, and life coach doing in the redesign business?

Good question. I've been redesigning homes my whole life and finally decided to follow my passion and do what I love. I took some interior design courses, but what I really love is one-day makeovers using what people already own. I decided to focus my business on just those elements and took training specifically in redesign. Then I started Sharp ReDesigns.

I have been astounded at the effects of redesign on people's lives. I had one client crying tears of happiness when she came home, saying it's the first time she's ever loved her home. Another client said that she hadn't wanted to get out of bed for two years prior to the redesign. The morning after the redesign, she cheerfully leapt out of bed to start her day. That's why I love this business - it's so rewarding!

Five years ago I began training others in redesign and home staging. At that time there were no instructors in Canada, so I founded the Canadian Redesigners Association as well so my students would have a supportive environment to help them with their business after the course.

I am lucky to have helped numerous people live their dream of becoming a decorator and feeling the same excitement and personal satisfaction I've felt over the years. She is an approved IRIS instructor and a certified professional co-active coach.
